Gene Edwards

Gene Edwards, 78, of Smiths Grove, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 8, 2019.

Gene was born in the Hays Community to the late Roger Edwards and Mable Jackson Edwards.  He was a self-employed welder.  Gene was a member of Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church and involved in several clubs and organizations.  His survivors include three children:  Todd Dean Smith; Teresa Gay Yates and Jill Edwards.  He was blessed with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  His is also survived by a brother, Roger Edwards and two sisters, Phyllis Bridges and Janice Kleier and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held today (05/08/2019)  for he and his late wife, Norma Jean Edwards.  Both will be buried together at Hays Cemetery.  A memorial for Gene will be held at a later date.
