William Ashby Vincent

William Ashby Vincent, 89, of Louisville, Kentucky departed this life peacefully on May 30, 2025.

He was born October 11, 1935 in Edmonson County to the late Roscoe and Flossie Vincent. He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Ashby lived a full and vibrant life centered around God, family, hard work and kindness. He worked over 40 years for Louisville Gas & Electric, 19 years delivering parts to industrial customers all over Kentucky and Southern Indiana for OTP, and worked part time at Ft Knox for SO Construction and all over Kentucky for S&S in his area of expertise, natural gas. Ashby (Bill) was a devout member of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church. William was known by several names. Work collogues knew him as Bill, family knew him as Ashby but many people only knew him as “Pappy”. No matter what name you used, everyone who knew him recognized the same steady, kind, and genuine man.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna Vincent, daughter Cindy Raggard (Rob) and grandchildren, Jessica Parsons (Jeff), Tiffany Young (Ryan), Nick Raggard, Justin Young (Alyssa), and Kyle Raggard, and great grandchildren, Wyatt and Lily Masterson, and Ashby and Thea Young. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard Vincent and Gillis Vincent, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Pine Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
