Theresa Sue Pennington, 72 of Bowling Green died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Hospice House.
Theresa was the only child of Dorenda May Martin Pennington and James Floyd Pennington. She was born on August 20, 1948. She attended Oakland Elementary, North Warren High School, Western Kentucky University and Nashville State Vo-Tech. She worked at the following location in Tennessee: Metro Police Department, Aladdin Industries, AVCO/Textron, Opryland Hotel, and Peterbilt Motors. She owned two businesses during her career which included, free-lance landscaping and Custom Design Memorials. In her designs, she created with love her own memorial stone. She was a life time member of the Baptist Church. Among her many loves, she enjoyed animals, music, movies, sports and writing poetry. Her poetry has been published in many books, and is also registered in the Library of Congress.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her sister, Paula Havens (Ron); her brother, Elwood "Woody" Buttrum (Gaile); two nephews, Michael A. Griffin (Heather) and James E. Conner (Brandi); a great niece and nephews, Aria and Gabriel Conner and several cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her maternal grandparents, R.H. and Clyde Martin; her paternal grandparents, A.B. and Thelma Pennington.
There will be a memorial service at 6 p.m., Monday, June 28 at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with a visitation from 4-6 p.m.
The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.
