Susan Hood

Susan Michelle Hood, 62, of Brownsville passed away on July 19, 2021, at her residence.  Born in North Carolina, she was preceded in death by her father, Glen Sowash, a brother, Scott Sowash,  and a granddaughter, Heaven Sowash.  Susan enjoyed serving others as a waitress at the Smiths Grove Travel Center.

Her memories will remain with those left to carry on. These include her mother, Ruth Raspberry, stepmother, Patricia Ann Pursley; her son, David Sowash (Amy); eight grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Anthony Sowash & Kevin Sowash; two  stepbrothers, Gregory Brock & John Brock ; one step sister, Kathy Buckler, a host of friends and several nieces & nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Smiths Grove Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel. In lieu of flowers or other memorials, donations can be made to Hardy & Son Funeral Home for the cost of the services.
