Rickie R. Moats, 72 of Oakland passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.
The Warren County native was the son of the late Herbert Lavern and Dorothy Petty Moats. He was preceded in death by a son Jeramy Moats, three brothers, Herbert, Bobby and Roger Moats; three sisters, Patricia Moats, Venida Moats and Mickie Hendricks. Rickie was a member of Smiths Grove Church of Christ and an active member of Buck Creek Sportsmen Club. He was a manager in the meat department for Houchens Industries for several years. Rickie never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone.
His survivors include his wife, Diane Moats; his son, Brandon Moats (Cody); four grandchildren, Joey Moats, Dylan Moats, Halie Moats and Garrett Moats (Lacey); daughter-in-law, Rachel Oates; three brothers-in-law, Harold Logan, Neil Johnson and Carlos Johnson (Mandy); sister-in-law, Janice Moats, several nieces and nephews and his furbaby, Rudy and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Friendship Community Church Cemetery at Alvaton. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
