Listen to Obituary

Patsy McDaniel Bardin, 87, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Patsy was born in Park City, Kentucky, where she was raised by her parents, Molia and Ross McDaniel. She carried the values of her small-town upbringing with her throughout her life—hard work, kindness, faith, and a deep devotion to family.

She met and married her beloved husband, Donald Bardin, while working for the National Park Service. Married for 54 years, they built a family that remained the center of Patsy’s world.

Known lovingly as “Mimi” by her grandchildren and great-grandchild, Patsy found her greatest joy in her family. Few things made her happier than gathering everyone together, usually around a table filled with food she had lovingly prepared. A phenomenal cook, she showed her love through meals meant to be shared—and she was especially known for her chocolate pie, a family favorite that will always bring her memory to the table.

Patsy worked for 45 years as an office manager for the dental practices of Dr. Charles Carter and Dr. Eric Kelley. She took great pride in her work and especially enjoyed the relationships she built over the years, especially with her dear friend and coworker Dorothy Foster, and many patients who felt more like friends.

A devout Christian, Patsy loved the Lord and lived her faith quietly and faithfully each day. She was also known for her great sense of humor, quick wit, and warm smile—bringing laughter and comfort wherever she went.

Patsy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of faith, family, generosity, and love will live on through those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her beloved children, Kitty Tonn (Jerry) of Dallas, Texas and Eric Bardin (Kim) of Bowling Green; her cherished grandchildren, Ericka Gioielli (Steven), Adam Tonn (Melissa), Erin Janacek (Ben), Sarah Tonn, and Ellie Bardin; her adored great-grandson, Hudson Gioielli and a another great-grandson expected in April. She is also survived by her sister, JoNelle Hildreth (John), and nephews John Hildreth, Jeff Hildreth, and Jason Hildreth.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Bardin who passed in 2012, as well as her parents, Molia and Ross McDaniel, her sister Carolyn Graden, and her nephew Ross Graden.

She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and will carry her lessons of kindness, compassion, and love forward every day.

A special thank you to the nurses of Hospice of Southern Kentucky that were wonderful caretakers of Patsy and a blessing to the family.

There will be a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Hardy & Son Funeral Homes-Bowling Green Chapel.  The family will honor Patsy’s wish to be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky in memory of Patsy Bardin.
