Nina Hawks Lawrence

Nina Hawks Lawrence, 96 of Smiths Grove passed peacefully on Monday, April 20 at NHC Healthcare.

The Barren County native was the daughter of Horace and Ruby Nuckols Hawks. She was the wife of the late Curtis Lawrence. Nina was preceded in death by two brothers, Roex Hawks and Karleen Hawks and three sisters, Josephine Hawks, Katherine Payne, and Loretta Pitcock. She retired from Kentucky Pants Sewing Factory as a seamstress. Nina was a member of Hanging Fork Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her flower gardens and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Lawrence (Elaine) and Marcus Lawrence (Kim); four granddaughters, Lodema Burgess (Jamie), LaDonna Mathis (Phillip), Ashley Simpson (Dave) and Holly Lawrence; three great grandchildren, Olivia Mathis, Wyatt Mathis and Raylan Burgess; several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Visitation will be on Wednesday 3-7 p.m. and Thursday 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
