Sue Neagle

Linda Sue (Jeffries) Neagle, age 71 of Smiths Grove departed her earthly body on January 18, 2025 at the Shanti Niketan Hospice House in Glasgow, KY. She was known as Sue, Nana Sue, and Mama Sue by those who loved her. In parting this earth, she was reunited with her daughter Kimberly Ann, grandson, Ryan Kieth Pulliam, her parents Orbrey and Callie Jeffries, her sisters Marcella Pardue and Bonnie Sherfey, and the father of her four children, Clayton I. (Jr) Neagle. She departed this life surrounded by the love and prayers of her family who will eternally cherish her memory and honor her through their love of Jesus that she taught them through her life example.

 She is survived by her children, Jennifer Fugate (Jeff) of Scottsville; Derrick Neagle (Candice) of Bon Ayr; and Amanda Watt (Derek) of Smiths Grove. She was dearly loved by her seven grandchildren, Hannah Hotaia (Moe) of Portland, Oregon, John Paul “Gaven” Adams (Tonya) of Glasgow, KY; Hayden Fugate (Abigail) of Bardstown, Ky; Julia Flores (Manny) of Bon Ayr, KY; Jonathan Pulliam of Smiths Grove, KY; Madelyn “Maddie” Neagle of Bon Ayr, KY; and Clayton “C.J.” Watt of Smiths Grove. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Wanda Smith (Jim) of Bowling Green, KY; Debbie Reece (Terry) of Wisdom, Ky; and Regina Fancher (Dale) of Knob Lick, KY. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

Sue was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and left a testimony of having accepted Jesus as her savior at Oak Forest Missionary Baptist Church as a young lady. She served as Sunday School teacher for the “littles” at Fairview General Baptist Church in Edmonson County for several years. She served as missionary with the Portland General Baptist Association Missions Team and was looking forward to serving at South Central Kentucky and Screaming Eagles Tres Dias. She was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning an Associates Degree in Secretarial Sciences from Bowling Green Business College. She went on to take several college courses at Western Kentucky University. Sue spent many years working in the community in helping related occupations. Most recently, she worked the switchboard at the TJ Samson Pavilion and TJ Samson Community Hospital where she was loved and adored by her co-workers (extended family) who will miss her love and humor. Sue could often be found cheering and encouraging her children and grandchildren in their accomplishments and activities. Additionally, she loved her canine companion, Lucy, reading, writing, and tending to her flower garden. She loved life and wasn’t afraid to kayak, parasail, or ride a camel. Her quick wit and compassionate heart were the hallmarks of her personality.

Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Oakland Baptist Church with burial in Hays Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the church. Hardy & Son Funeral Home is honored to assist with these arrangements. Her son Derrick Neagle will be officiating the service.
