Joann Johnson Duncan

Joann Johnson-Duncan passed away April 30, 2024 at the hospice house in Bowling Green, KY. Joann was born on February 10, 1940 to Clarence Johnson and Gladys Irene Bolton-Johnson. She married Simpson Odell Duncan on October 4,1958 and to this union were born two sons Terry Dale Duncan and Bobby Joe Duncan. She worked at Eaton corporation until 1998 and Walmart until 2005. She was a devoted housewife, mother, and special Aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews like a grandma making time for them always. A good friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed traveling visiting many different places. She was a member of the Shadyland Church of Christ and attended faithfully until her health made it impossible for her to attend regularly. She was an excellent cook especially her desserts for which many enjoyed. She was determined to get better never gave up and fought hard until the end of her life. 
 She is survived by her husband, Simpson Odell Duncan, son Bobby Joe Duncan, sister Barbara Jean Burnett, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Johnson, mother Gladys Irene Bolton-Johnson, son Terry Dale Duncan, sister Alice Lorene Johnson-Wilson, and brother Virgil Leon “Tomboy” Johnson. 
 
 Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shadyland Church of Christ with burial in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m-1p.m. Tuesday at the church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Hardy and Son Funeral Home Bowling Green.
