James Richard "Jimmy" Lawrence

James Richard “Jimmy” Lawrence, 75, passed peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow surrounded by family.

The Barren County native was born to the late Maxie and Juanita Payne Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Gail Lawrence. He was employed by Holley Automotive and served in the US National Guard. Jimmy served several churches as their pastor over the years. He loved good gospel singings and attending revivals around the country.

His survivors are his son, Dr. Jamie Lawrence and wife Dr. Elisha Lawrence; two grandchildren, Kaylee Lawrence and her fiancé Bryce Osborne and Kellis Lawrence; two brothers, Donnie Lawrence and Terry Lawrence and wife Melanie and one nephew, Jason Lawrence and wife Carol and three great nieces and nephews. A special neighbor and friend, Janice Neal.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. CST, Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. CST on Monday at the funeral home and Tuesday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
