Glen Edward Akers, 76 of Bowling Green died on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at his residence.

He was the son of the late Charles and Beulah Britton Akers. He was preceded in death by a sister, LaDonna Akers and a brother, Charles Dean Akers. Glen was retired from General Motors Assembly, a member of Belgrade Baptist Church. He liked metal detecting.

His survivors include his wife, Karen Akers; two sons, Jeff Akers (Cheryl) and Daniel Crowder; four daughters, Tammy Littrell (Tim), Jamie Akers, Kimberly Bright (Richie) and Jennifer Wade (Chris); 18 grandchildren, Ryan Akers, Travis Akers, Briana Akers, Emily Littrel, Danielle Carter, Madison Sayre, Taylor Windmann, David Snyder, Dylan Crowder, Autumn Crowder, Brandon Dotson, Jacob Dotson, Delia Dotson, Scotty Alexander, Kalyn Webb, Leann Bright, McKennia Bright and Madison Bright; seven great grandchildren, Amelia Akers, Harrison Akers, Logan Akers, Xander Carter, Alivia Carter, Grayson Sayre and Nova Crowder; two brothers, Elmer Akers (Kathy) and Delmer Akers.

The funeral service for "King Edward" (as the family called him) will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 8 at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
