Evelyn Cowles Watt (Granny) was 96 years old when she departed this present world on Aug 30 2025 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Evelyn was born November 10, 1928, in the community of Boiling Springs Kentucky. She was born to the late James Hobert Cowles and Minnie Pennington Cowles She was the seventh child born into a family of eleven children in which ten of them have preceded her in death: Ambrose, Ralph, W.V., Alvie, Nellie, Alice, Mildred, Margie, Murlene and Paul.

Evelyn was married to the late Archie Floyd Watt (Pete) 12 January 1952. They had six children, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren from their blessed union. Pete preceded her in death on Christmas Eve 1993.

Evelyn dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and died a devoted Christian. She was a member of the Boiling Springs Church of Christ. She loved to talk about the Bible. Christ was number one in her life, and she seldom missed assembling with the church.

Evelyn tended to the family farm with her husband and continued after his passing. They grew a garden and raised tobacco and corn. She would cut and rake hay. She feed and kept watch over the cattle and has been knocked down by steers. She also wrecked anything she drove on the farm, at some time or another, and that is why she never had a driver’s license. She loved to babysit her grandchildren and took them out with her farming.

Evelyn leaves behind to cherish her loving memory six children. Sandra Arlene (Rollie) Floyd (Belinda) Cary (Janis) Jeffery (Gale) Joey, David (Anissa). Thirteen grandchildren Holly, Phillip, Melissa, Timmy, Kristina, Amanda, Justin, Amy, Chad, Ariel, Avery, Joshua, Joseph. Also, all of those great and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was loved by all and will be missed greatly by all that knew her. Now the 3rd pew at Boiling Springs Church of Christ where Evelyn, Margie, W.V., and Georgia sat every Sunday is now empty.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Shady Land Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
