David Hunter English, age 63, passed away on October 21, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington, after facing prolonged illness. Born on June 22, 1962, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Charles and Barbara English. David spent most of his life in Lexington, Kentucky.
David was a gregarious soul with a generous heart, known for forging friendships across all walks of life. His warmth, sincerity, and ever-present smile made others feel seen, heard, and loved. He was an uplifting spirit simply by being himself.
A devoted animal lover, David often opened his heart and home to pets in need, especially those others had overlooked. His beloved dog, Dudley, was his constant companion.
David was well known for his coffee pot, which he used to share a morning cup of coffee at his apartment with his friends. He was a caretaker of those around him, sharing what little he had without hesitation, offering shelter, kindness, and unwavering support to those in need.
Whether through a morning cup of coffee or a heartfelt conversation, David brought joy and comfort to those lucky enough to know him. His life is remembered as one of compassion and generosity.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara King English.
He is survived by his father, Charles E. English of Bowling Green, Kentucky, his brother Buzz English (Nancy) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, his sister Lisa Hinkle (Tom) of Lexington, Kentucky, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Bowling Green Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Hardy & Son Funeral Homes is entrusted with the arrangements.
