Candice Barnes

Candice “Candi” Barnes, 57, of Smiths Grove, KY, passed peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Candi was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Coy D. Hudson and Vicki A. Thomas. Candi was a member of Center Point Church where the Celebration of Life will be held.

Candi loved cooking and enjoyed watching others partake of what she made. She was always the life of the party and loved to make people laugh. She loved life and made every moment count. She worked in manufacturing facilities and made many friends along the way.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter, Erika Cummings; Grandson, and favorite human, Maddox Cummings; parents, Tom & Peggy Kitchens; Brothers, Coy Hudson (Amy); Randy Hudson (Leslie); Sammy Hudson (Megan); Sisters, Cassandra Manning (Jon); Amanda Follin (B.J.); and Colette Wheeler (Nick). AKA: Andy, Sandy, Candi, Mandi & Randy. In addition, she had several nieces & nephews that meant the world to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Center Point Church. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Celebration will begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jewish Hospital, 200 Abraham Flexner Way, Louisville, KY 40202, and/or Hospice of Southern Kentucky The Staff of Hardy & Son Funeral Homes is honored to be assisting with these arrangements.
