Bobby Eugene Young

Bobby Eugene Young, 93, passed from this life on Monday, August 3, 2026. Born on August 19, 1932, to LB and Allie M. Young. In addition to his parents, proceeding him in death was his beloved wife of 62 years, Peggy S. Young, and his siblings Mary Jo Edilberti, Harold Young, Doyle Young, and his grandson, Trent Eugene Young.

Left to treasure his memory include his son Kevin Young (Connie), and three daughters, Kim Vickous (Gordon), Karen Pitts (Dennis), and Kelly White (Jeff). He was known as “Papaw” to Brandon Vickous (Brittney), Jonathan Vickous (Cassie), Paul Vickous, Tanner Granata (Andrew), and Kelcie White. Watching and playing with his 12 great grandchildren brought him joy.

Bobby honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Additionally, he was a draftsman, and later a drafting instructor at the Bowling Green Vocational School. Bobby lived a humble life, enjoying fishing, boating, camping, basketball, baseball, and football.

His children extend their sincere gratitude to the team at Hospice of Southern Kentucky for their excellent care and compassionate hearts. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Rd., Bowling Green, KY 42104.

A private graveside service will be held later. Arrangements were entrusted to Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.
