Billy Ray Buchanan

Billy Ray Buchanan, 79 of Bowling Green died Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the Medical Center.

The Warren County native was a son of the late H V and Delphia Simmons Buchanan. He was preceded in death by three brothers, J V Buchanan, Jimmy Buchanan and Roger Buchanan and one sister, Peggy Sullivan. He was a self-employed electrician, a member of Wingfield Baptist Church. He worked in construction, loved fishing and raising his peacocks.

His survivors include two daughters, Pam Hopper and Ashley Buchanan; one son, Darrell Buchanan (Trina) and three grandchildren, Seth Morales, Amanda Hopper and Anna Majors.

His funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Wingfield Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. -12 noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
