Betty Watt Burnett

Betty A. Watt Burnett, 84 of Louisville passed peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025

The Edmonson County native was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Elnora “Cricket”Compton Watt. Betty was preceded in death by her son, David Burnett, a great granddaughter, Penelope Dessify, her brother, Gerald Watt, her sister, Sue Watt and brother-in-law, Ernest Clemmons. She was a former real estate agent and a Christian lady who was a member of Shadyland Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, DeAnna Dessify (Bob), a grandson, Adam Dessify (Brittany),a granddaughter, Rachel Dessify; one great granddaughter, Molly Dessify; two sisters, Judy Watt and Stella Clemmons; a sister-in-law, Jan Watt, the father of her children, Don Burnett and many nieces and nephews. Betty loved her family beyond measure.

The funeral service will be at 12 noon Wednesday at Shadyland Church of Christ with burial at Otter Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel and 9 a.m.-12 noon Wednesday at Shadyland Church.
