Barbara Jean Burnett

Barbara Jean Burnett, 82 of Bowling Green passed peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

The Warren County native was a daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys Bolton Johnson and wife of the late Billy Reed Burnett. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Wilson and Joann Duncan and brother, Leon “Tomboy” Johnson, one nephew Terry Dale Duncan. Barbara was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved sewing and gardening and being with her church family at Shady Land Church of Christ.

Her survivors include her daughter, Lareca Phelps (Bobby); her son, Danny Burnett; two grandchildren, Shanna Dunn (Nick) and Tyler Phelps (Ashley); two great grandchildren, Preston Dunn (Emma) and Carly Dunn (Logan) and one great great granddaughter, Wrenlee Grace Dunn; two brothers-in-law, Simp Duncan and Don Burnett along with several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 12 noon Friday at Shady Land Church of Christ. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel and 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Shady Land Church Cemetery.
