JAMES R. BROOKS

                           James Randolph Brooks, 76, of Bowling Green died at
                           12:10 a.m. Oct. 25, 2007, at his son’s residence. The Warren
                           County native was a heavy equipment operator for
                           Towsley Construction, retiring in 1981. He was a member
                           of Plum Springs Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge.
                           He was a son of the late Hackney Brooks and Lottie
                           Watt Brooks. He was preceded in death by a sister, 
                           Anna   Lee.  

                           Funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home,
                           Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Plum Springs
                           Cemetery. Visitation is from 4   p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and
                           from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral  home.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Everley and her husband, Bill, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a son, Gil Brooks and his wife, Judy, of Oakland; two sisters, Naomi Keathly of Arizona and Roberta Jackson and her husband, Raymond, of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Brooke Everley of Birmingham, Julie Brooks Towe and her husband, Brad, of Versailles, Kristen Everley Hoy of Spartanburg, S.C., and Daniel Brooks and Andrew Brooks, both of Oakland; a great-granddaughter, Allison Hoy of Spartanburg; and several nieces and nephews.
