Dorothy “Dot” Plumlee Halsey Dorothy “Dot” Plumlee Halsey, 69, of Bowling Green died at 11:02 a.m. Nov. 16, 2007, at The Medical Center. The Logan County native was a retired social worker at Social Services, former owner of Plumlee’s Grocery, a member of Bucksville Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was a daughter of the late Daniel Bud Hudson and Mattie Earl “Hunton” Hudson. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Dovie Bailey, Earnestine Washer, Dessie Bailey and Lena McPherson; and two brothers, Walter Hudson and Mitchell Hudson. Funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband, Tim Halsey; five daughters, Beverly Sylvester of Greenville, S.C., Denice Mires of Bowling Green, Sandi Jones of Sumter, S.C., and Kim Lawrence and her husband, Marcus, and Anita East and her husband, Randy, all Smiths Grove; two sons, Dwight Ogles of Bowling Green and Ralph “Red” Plumlee Jr. and his wife, Candi, of Russellville; stepchildren, Ronnie Plumlee and his wife, Sharon, of Cincinnati, and Vicki Horn of Fort Myer, Fla.; and 14 grand- children, Candy Queen, Donnie Sylvester, Catey Sylvester, Seth Bailey, Derrick Jones, Ashley Lawrence, Holley Lawrence, Brian Plumlee, Weston Plumlee, Lawton Plumlee, Clay Fouts, Jessica Horn, Ashley Halsey and Cheyenne Halsey; nine great- grandchildren; two sisters, Mardell Porter and her husband, Harold, of Russellville, and Jean Westerfield and her companion, Harry Basham, of Bowling Green; a special sister-in-law, Marie Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
